Creative Commons Video

In addition to the open source software on this CD, we have included two videos released under Creative Commons Licenses. These licenses, like their software couterparts increase the freedoms available to end users. Both of the video files on this disc are freely distributable.

The first of these two videos is called Wanna Work Together, and is part of a campaign to raise awareness for the Creative Commons suite of licenses. It is released under the Creative Commons Attribution License 2.5 and outlines what these licenses can mean for creators and users of copyright protected works.

The second video is Elephant's Dream, the result of a collaborative project where six community members of the open source 3D modeling suite Blender were invited to come together in Amsterdam to attempt to create a short movie using open source tools that would then be released under the Creative Commons Attribution License 2.5 and create a truly "open movie". This was known as the Orange project. More information and higher resolution verions of Elephant's Dream can be found at http://orange.blender.org/.
